The Ancestor Profile Blueprint
Here's Everything that's in the Course
Module 1 - Ancestor Profiles Introduction
In our first module, we introduce you to ancestor profiles. We examine exactly what they are, the characteristics of a great profile and the different types of profiles that you can write.
Module 2 - The 5 Blueprint Pillars
In Module 2, we reveal to you our signature framework for building an ancestor profile using our 5-pillar method. We go in-depth into each pillar, often giving examples and methods for writing each.
Module 3 - Planning and Writing a Profile
Now that you have a good understanding of profiles, Module 3 walks you through how to plan and write your profile with our step-by-step framework. You'll use our proprietary Workbook and Planner to layout and write your ancestor's profile.
Module 4 - Creative Writing Techniques
In Module 4, we examine a variety of creative writing techniques that you can add to your profile, elevating them to another level.
Module 5 - Profile Dissection
In Module 5, we provide you with two ancestor profiles to read. We then dissect them, looking at how we've used the Ancestor Profile Blueprint to create a seamless read.
Module 6 - Profile Workshop Recordings and First Drafts
In Module 6, you watch over my shoulder as I workshop 3 ancestor profiles with my students. See how we work through the process and decide on an approach for each profile. We work through the workbook and planner in real time. As an added bonus, 2 of our students have offered up the first draft of their profile for you to read.

Have we met yet?
Hey, I'm Lynn,
go-to writing and accountability coach for family historians ready to shape their research into
shareable stories.
15 Years ago, I made the decision to start turning my research into stories I could share with my family.
It would also be a way to leave a legacy of my work, afraid my files and boxes of stuff would be lost to future generations.
My first book, a heirloom coffee-table style book, was a success and soon students were lining up wanting to know how I did it.
I've been teaching family history writing for over 10 years to thousands of students globally.
I've also written
- a family history children's book
- a novella-length family history narrative
- numerous short stories and ancestor profiles
- currently writing a novel-length family history
And now I want to give you my methods, worksheets and templates.
