When writers get stuck, it’s rarely because they lack information — it’s because they lack structure, momentum, accountability, and a space to practice in real time.
The Scene Writing Summit gives you:
A focused week each quarter
Live craft instruction
Writing time built right into the sessions
Community feedback to sharpen your voice
A rhythm that puts your story back in forward motion
Whether you’re mid-draft, revising, or wanting a creative reset, the Summit gives you the perfect blend of structure, support, and skill-building.
Each Summit follows a predictable, energizing structure that turns learning into progress — fast.
A focused, essential scene technique taught through examples and actionable steps you can apply immediately.
Work on your story while the concepts are fresh, supported by timed guidance and gentle structure.
Hear how your writing lands, learn by listening to others, and refine your craft through real-world examples.
Bring your questions, obstacles, and next-scene dilemmas. Leave with clarity and direction.
By the end of the week, you’ll have new scenes drafted, existing scenes strengthened, and a renewed connection to your story.
Each quarter focuses on a different skill set so your toolbox — and confidence — expands all year long.
Sample topics include:
Writing emotional shifts with precision
Crafting compelling scene goals
Layering tension and micro-conflict
Strengthening character voice on the line level
Creating dynamic settings that deepen mood and meaning
Weaving theme, symbolism, and internal echo into the scene
Writing decisions, dilemmas, and turning points
Using foreshadowing and subtle reveal
Building scenes that move the story

The Four Core Scene Labs
Each Summit Week is built around four tightly focused craft labs — one each week— designed to strengthen your scenes through actionable instruction and guided writing practice. These labs aren’t just lectures; they’re tools you’ll use on the page the moment you learn them.
Below is the core lineup for your Scene Writing Summit 2026
Week 1
Mar 9th, 11th, 13th
Every powerful scene carries emotional movement — a change in mood, desire, belief, tension, or relationship. In this Lab, you’ll learn how to identify your character’s emotional starting point, craft the moment of shift, and land the scene on a new emotional note with clarity and resonance.
You’ll leave with:
A sharpened emotional arc inside every scene you write.
Week 3
Sept 14th, 16th, 18th
Character voice lives on the line level — in rhythm, silence, beat choices, word patterns, and interior texture. This Lab helps you translate a character’s inner world onto the page in a way that feels authentic, precise, and emotionally grounded.
You’ll leave with:
Dialogue and interiority that reveal character and deepen immersion.
Week 2
June 15th, 17th, 19th
Scenes don’t fall flat because nothing “big” happens — they fall flat because tension fades. This Lab teaches you how to weave small frictions, unmet wants, conflicting intentions, and internal resistance into the day-to-day fabric of your scenes. No melodrama. Just alive, layered storytelling.
You’ll leave with:
Scenes pulsing with energy, momentum, and narrative pull.
Week 4
Nov 9th, 11th, 13th
Every scene needs a reason to exist. It must turn something — stakes, relationships, choices, consequences, or internal pressure. This Lab teaches you how to engineer and execute a strong scene turn so your story always moves.
You’ll leave with:
Scenes with purpose, direction, and undeniable narrative momentum.
